Ideally, yes. A Legacy Board is most meaningful when it represents the entire department, and we work with your schedule to make photographing multiple shifts as easy as possible.

For larger departments, photography may take place over several days with an additional makeup opportunity when needed. Our goal is to give every member a reasonable opportunity to be included.

In many cases, yes. While photographing everyone using the same lighting, background, and posing creates the most consistent finished piece, we understand there are situations where an existing photograph may need to be incorporated.

This is especially helpful for retired members, command staff, historical personnel, or other special circumstances. We will review the photograph first to determine whether it can be incorporated into the design while maintaining the overall quality of the Legacy Board.

How often you update your Legacy Board is completely up to your department. There is no required schedule or one-size-fits-all timeline.

Some departments choose to create a new Legacy Board annually, while others update theirs every three years, every five years, or whenever there has been a significant change in personnel.

A new board can be a great way to recognize new hires, promotions, retirements, leadership changes, department growth, or an important anniversary or milestone.

Yes. Although Timeless Heroes Photography can photograph your entire department, we can also create Legacy Boards using photographs supplied by your agency or another photographer.

Image quality, resolution, lighting, and consistency can affect the finished design, so we review submitted photographs before production and provide guidance on what will work best.

Yes. Your department will receive a digital proof of the Legacy Board before it goes into final production.

This gives your designated department representative the opportunity to review names, ranks, personnel placement, department information, and the overall design. Revisions can be made as needed before final approval.

We do not send your Legacy Board to print until your department has approved the design.

Once we have the final roster, photographs, and department information, the initial Legacy Board design is generally completed within approximately two weeks.

After your department approves the final design, the board is professionally printed, finished, framed, and prepared for delivery or shipment. Production typically requires approximately another week, although timing can vary depending on revisions, size, and specialty finishing.

Legacy Boards are available in several sizes depending on your department's number of personnel, available wall space, and how the board will be displayed.

Smaller departments may fit beautifully on a more compact board, while larger agencies often require a larger format so every portrait remains easy to see and the finished piece maintains a balanced design.

We will recommend an appropriate size based on your department and the number of people being included.

For smaller departments, especially those with fewer than 10 personnel, we can customize the layout, size, and design so the finished piece still feels substantial, balanced, and worthy of display.

Legacy Boards begin at $825, with final pricing based on the number of personnel, finished board size, design requirements, photography needs, travel, and any additional services your department selects.
